
Feb 9 2020 - Fifty-eight students from Tsung Tsin Academy partipated in a live zoom-sharing session of their ideas to design and engineering researchers from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and from the Royal College of Art London.
Dr Jeanne Tan, associate professor of fashion and textile design at PolyU and project lead of the D-STEM workshop, started of the session by introducing core D-STEM topics including but not limited to artificial intelligence, design thinking topics and Polymeric Optical fibers.


The introduction was followed by project sharing session by Dr. Miu Wong, Dominic Co and Jimmy Cheuk of PolyU and the Laboratory for Articial Intelligence in Design.

Students were then split into two groups for group presentations. A variety of ideas were presented including a AI-enabled posture-correcting gaming chair, a anti-sexual harassment hand bag and a plant condition monitoring system.
Laura Salisbury and Claire Miller of the RCA gave their comments on each project and commended the students on their innovative and well-thought through ideas and presentations.
