Last June 3, students and teachers of S.K.H. Holy Trinity Church Secondary School and the D-STEM team gathered to kick off the first of our multi-day workshop. It was the team's first time to visit the college and to meet the students face-to-face.

Dr. Jeanne Tan introduced the team and presented core topics surround AI, D-STEM and polymeric optical fibers. Shortly after, Dr Miu Wong commenced the introduced of the Discover and Define stages of the workshop, where students would have the opportunity to explore and to research issues in their daily lives and how AI can be applied to solve these problems.

Students were also given hands-on experience in using sewing machines, bundling POF textiles and using a loom in integrating POF yarn into weave structures to provide handworking skills for the prototyping stage. For many students, it was their first time to use POF textiles, and many were inspired by the illuminative effects that the textile could offer for their projects.

We are excited to continue our workshop with the students and faculty of AD&FD POHL Leung Sing Tak College in the near future!
