Over the course of two weeks, Carmel Alison Lam Foundation Secondary School students prototyped and presented their design work using a variety of skills they were taught during the workshop. Students were given hands-on experience in using sewing machines, bundling POF textiles and using a loom in integrating POF yarn into weave structures to provide hand-working skills for the prototyping stage. For many students, it was their first time to use POF textiles, and many were inspired by the illuminative effects that the textile could offer for their projects.

The secondary school students then presented their work in front of designer Claire Miller, who commented on the excellent eloquence and presentation skills the students had. The team was impressed by the innovative projects the students worked on ranging from curtains that change color in response to outdoor temperatures to uniforms that change color in response to the user's activity. Congratulations Carmel Alison Lam Foundation Secondary School students and we hope to see your works in the future exhibition.
